Sour Cream Cookies

These cookies freeze well.
¼ cup butter or margarine
½ tsp vanilla
¾ cup brown sugar
1 egg
1½ cups flour
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp baking soda
½ cup sour cream
Dates, nuts, etc (opt)
Cream together butter, vanilla and sugar. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400° for 8 minutes.
Icing
¼ cup butter (don’t use margarine)
1 cup powdered sugar
½ tsp vanilla
Mix together. Add hot water as needed to reach desired consistency.
