Sandra’s Cherry Winks

2¼ cups flour 1 tsp baking soda
¾ cup butter 2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla 2 T milk
1 tsp baking powder 1/3 cup maraschino cherries, quartered
1 cup sugar dash of salt
1 cup nuts 2 1/3 cups crushed corn flakes
1 cup dates
Add flour, baking powder, soda and salt; set aside. In another bowl blend butter, sugar, milk and vanilla. Add dry ingredients, dates, nuts, and cherries. Shape into balls and roll in corn flakes. Place on greased cookie sheet. Top each cookie with ¼ cherry section. Bake at 375° for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.
